Retired, with plenty of time on my hands and a healthy dose of grumpiness. The collection leans into sarcasm, cynicism, and a twisted take on the world. I'm inspired by the likes of Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, and Douglas Adams. I'd love to keep in touch via my newly created mailing list. Several curious people, really it’s just one, asked me how or where the ideas came from. Thankfully, there’s no clear answer. When the trousers, mind, or weather conditions suit such things, the computer opens, a page appears, and it starts to flow. Wondrously weird, odd, and strange things abound. The Stories to Tell Collection has three books at the moment, and it may well have another soon.

Books

A Story or Two to Tell (Stories to tell Book #1)

Book #1 from the series: Stories to tell

A Story or Two to Tell is the presentation of two stories, with my fanciful resume. All read to the eager audience growing in numbers in the aged care complex I could call home. I don’t live in an aged care home just yet and I’m not a psychopath. Even though the stories are aimed at a mature audience, they may sometimes seem immature.

More Stories to Tell (Stories to tell Book #2)

Book #2 from the series: Stories to tell

More Stories to Tell - Presents two of his more recent stories read to the ever-growing audience at the aged care home. Growing in numbers, of course, not individual size.

“Goings on in Space” is a messy tale of love, sex, space, droids, and mean business types who control the known Universe.

“A Couple that Kills” A young couple living their lives...

Very Odd Short Stories (Stories to tell Book #3)

Book #3 from the series: Stories to tell

17 stories best described as odd or just plain weird. The perfect distraction from life’s complexity. They aren’t real events but may have some basis in truth. Several curious people (really, it’s just one) asked me how or where the ideas came from. Thankfully, there’s no clear answer. When the trousers, mind, or weather conditions suit such...

Praise

Darkly humorous and wildly imaginative, A Story or Two to Tell serves up twisted tales with a satirical bite that’s as unsettling as it is entertaining.

Reading A Story or Two to Tell by Alan Crawford feels like sitting across from someone who's lived a hundred lives or at least imagined them all in vivid, unapologetic detail. These two stories, though wildly different in tone and content, are bound by a singular voice: one that is wry, brutally honest, darkly comic, and surprisingly tender in the oddest moments.

Alan Crawford’s A Story or Two to Tell is one of those books that makes you stop and wonder, “Who comes up with this stuff?” And then you realize that’s the point. These aren’t ordinary stories. They’re bold, bizarre, unapologetically twisted, and somehow still incredibly entertaining.
